Job summary

QSAC, Inc. is seeking a NYS Certified Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or Teacher of Students with Speech Language Disabilities (TSSLD) with CCC to provide speech and language therapy to children with autism spectrum disorder.

This NYS School program in the Bronx offers extensive support and growth opportunities, with a salary range of $65,000–$90,000 depending on certification, education, experience, and ABA credentials.

Qualifications

  • NYS Certification of Clinical Competency is required.
  • NYS Certification as TSHH or TSSLD certification is required.
  • MA Degree in Speech Language Pathology is required.
  • Minimum of 3 letters of recommendation upon hire.
  • At least 6 months experience applying behavior analytic principles with children with ASD.
  • Knowledge of AAC systems, including PECS, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement speech and language programs aligned with the student's IEP and behavioral requirements.
  • Conduct formal and informal assessments of speech, language, and communication skills.
  • Write IEP goals, objectives and updates.
  • Implement data collection and behavior interventions during therapy sessions per IEP.
  • Maintain daily attendance and session notes.

Description

The salary range for this position is $65,000-$90,000 annually (Commensurate with level of certification, education, experience and ABA credentials, if applicable).

  • SLP TSHH/TSSLD and CFY: $65,000-$75,000
  • SLP TSHH/TSSLD and CCC: $76,000-$90,000

This position requires you to work with individuals on the Autism Spectrum between the ages of 2-4 years old.

Job Summary

If you are a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) looking for a rewarding opportunity, the QSAC School in the Bronx is searching for a dedicated NYS Certified Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or Teacher of Students with Speech Language Disabilities (TSSLD) with NYS Certification of Clinical Competency (CCC) to provide speech and language therapy to assess and treat speech, language, and social communication disorders in children with autism spectrum disorder.

Responsibilities
Program Development & Assessment
  • Ensure that speech and language programs are developed and implemented in accordance with behavioral principles and the individual needs of each student's IEP
  • Conduct formal and informal assessments of student's speech, language, and communication skills
  • Write IEP goals, objectives and updates
  • Implement data collection, behavior management interventions and the principles of behavior analyses during individualized therapy sessions in accordance with the IEP
  • Maintain daily attendance of speech sessions and session notes
Communication & Training
  • Participate in Parent/Teacher Clinics in order to promote generalization of speech and language skills learned in school. This may entail formal and informal contact with teachers and parents, as well as parent therapy observations, direct parent training, IEP and parent conferences, and home visits when requested
  • Participate in staff/team meetings and required staff training
Qualifications & Work Experience
  • NYS Certification of Clinical Competency required
  • NYS Certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or Teacher of Students with Speech Language Disabilities (TSSLD) required
  • MA Degree in Speech Language Pathology required
  • 3 letters of recommendation required upon hire
  • At least 6 months experience employing behavior analytic principles with children with ASD
  • Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, including Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) highly preferred
