Job summary

Expedite Talent Solutions is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to support adults and children with IDD in a collaborative, interdisciplinary setting. The position involves evaluating swallowing and communication abilities and providing both clinical and consultative services.

The role includes annual assessments, recommendations for individualized plans, ordering swallow studies, and staff training to ensure proper mealtime and communication interventions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment to meet communication and mealtime needs of individuals with IDD.
• Provide consultation-based communication and swallowing services to adults with IDD as needed.
• Deliver intensive communication and swallowing services to children in custody through IDD Medically Fragile Foster Home.
• Complete annual swallowing, choking risk, and communication assessments for each resident.
• Provide recommendations for action steps for individualized support plans.
• Request orders for video fluoroscopic swallow studies and attend swallow studies as indicated.
• Order communication devices/environmental control units as needed; monitor fidelity of staff plans and facilitate staff training.

Job description

Duration- till 06/30/2027 with Possibility of Extension

Shift hrs- Regular business hrs - 8a-4.30pm (M-f)

Roles and responsibilities include, but not limited to the following.

• SLP needed to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment to meet the communication and mealtime/swallowing needs of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. No insurance billing required!
• Provide consultation-based communication and swallowing services to adults with IDD in with direct services as needed.
• Provide intensive communication and swallowing services to children currently in custody being served through the IDD Medically Fragile Foster Home.
• Complete an annual assessment pertaining to swallowing, choking risk, and communication for each resident.
• Provide recommendations for action steps for individualized support plans.
• Request orders for video fluoroscopic swallow studies and attend swallow studies as indicated.
• Order communication devices/environmental control units as needed. Complete monthly and quarterly monitoring to ensure fidelity of staff-implemented plans. Initiate and facilitate staff training to ensure proper implementation of mealtime and communication interventions.
