Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders, helping individuals improve their speech, language, cognitive-communication, and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations to diagnose speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans to address patient needs.
  • Provide therapy sessions focusing on articulation, cognitive-communication, and swallowing difficulties.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on techniques to enhance communication and swallowing function.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including occupational and physical therapists, physicians, and nursing staff, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.
  • Stay current with best practices and advancements in speech-language pathology.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Active Speech-Language Pathology license in Missouri.
  • Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (preferred).
  • Experience: Prior experience in speech therapy (preferred but not required).
  • Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and patient-care skills.
  • Certifications: CPR certification (preferred).

Work Environment

  • Full-time or PRN (as-needed) role available.
  • Work settings may include hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments.
  • Requires adaptability and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a care team.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
  • ASHA Certification
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate electronic documentation.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plan and treatment delivery in accordance with the patient's need and physician's direction within the post-acute setting.
  • Other duties as assigned, within scope of practice
  • Communication with interdisciplinary team with focus on case managing patient's needs, not minutes!
