Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine in Maryland is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join our Rehab Therapy Services. The role supervises under the Team Coordinator and works with the multidisciplinary team to evaluate and treat patients and return them to their maximum function.

Requirements include a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology, Maryland state licensure, ASHA certification, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Licensure from State of Maryland and ASHA certification.
• Current AHA Health Care Provider CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Uses objective evaluation techniques to assess speech, language, cognitive, voice and swallowing limitations and medical condition.
• Prescribes and implements a treatment program designed to restore patients to their maximum level of function.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary health care team to maximize patient and team outcomes.
• Promotes improvements in service, department and hospital systems for better patient care.
• Incorporates and operationalizes organizational goals and objectives.

Position Summary:

• Works under the direct supervision of the Team Coordinator and/or Clinical Specialist, and leadership of the Rehab Therapy Services Team Leader and/or Inpatient or Outpatient Manager
• Uses objective evaluation techniques to assess the Speech, Language, Cognitive, Voice and Swallowing limitations and medical condition of patients
• Prescribes and implements a treatment program which is designed to return patients to their maximum level of function.
• Work collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary health care team to maximize patient and team outcomes
• Promotes improvement in service, department and hospital systems to benefit patient care.
• Incorporates and operationalizes the goals and objectives of the organization

Education:

• Completion of a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited academic program

Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.:

• Licensure from State of Maryland, ASHA certification, Current AHA Health Care Provider CPR certification.
• Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR required.

Shift: Full-time 40 hours per week

Experience:

• Completion of Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellowship
• Experience in Hospital acute care setting

Salary Range: Minimum $34.62/hour - Maximum $57.19/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
