AnthroMed Education is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for full-year maternity leave coverage, primarily serving high school students in grades 9–12. The position involves approximately 7.5 hours per day onsite, split between two nearby high schools with a shared caseload of about 35 students.
The role requires an Illinois SLP license and school-based credentials, with emphasis on IEP goal writing, progress tracking, and collaboration with school staff.
Position: Speech-Language Pathologist - Full-Year FMLA/Maternity Leave Coverage
Grade Levels: Primarily 9th-12th Grade
Hours: Approximately 7.5 hours per day
Setting: Onsite
School Assignment: Split between two high schools
Calendar: Follows the regular school calendar
Student Schedule: SLP is not expected to work when students are not in attendance
Start/End Dates: Full-year coverage; exact dates to be determined
Depending on the school assignment, the daily schedule will be approximately:
7:45 AM-3:15 PM, with bell times of 8:00 AM-3:00 PM
8:00 AM-3:30 PM, with bell times of 8:10 AM-3:10 PM
Two Wednesdays per month are student half-days with professional development/in-service programming for staff. Wednesdays may not be ideal for this position due to the reduced student schedule and the need to maintain service minutes.
The anticipated caseload is approximately 35 students, primarily consisting of high school students.
The caseload currently includes:
Primarily 9th grade students
Students in grades 9-12
Some students participating in specialized programming, including Foundations and center-based services
Approximately 4 students receiving direct speech-language services
Remaining students are primarily consultative
Some students transitioning from 8th grade may no longer require speech-language services
The district is currently finalizing the caseload and exact student assignments.
The SLP will be responsible for:
Providing direct speech-language therapy services
Providing consultative speech-language services
Managing an assigned caseload of approximately 35 students
Writing and developing speech-language IEP goals
Updating existing goals and developing new goals as appropriate
Tracking and meeting monthly service minutes
Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate documentation
Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and other related service providers
Dedicated office space at both school locations
Schools are located close enough to make traveling between locations convenient
Easy access between the two schools for providing services
Easy IEP used for IEP documentation
PowerSchool used as the student information system
Collaborative school-based environment
The ideal SLP will be comfortable balancing direct and consultative services and working primarily with high school students. Strong organization and time-management skills are important for ensuring that monthly service minutes, IEP responsibilities, and caseload management remain on track.
Appropriate Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist licensure and school-based credentials required
Previous school-based or high school experience preferred
Strong IEP writing and documentation skills
Ability to provide both direct and consultative services
Strong organizational and communication skills
Comfortable working across two school locations
