About the Opportunity

A highly supportive elementary school in Gurnee, IL is seeking a full‑time Speech‑Language Pathologist for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team of SLPs with manageable caseloads and strong support from fellow clinicians.

Position Overview

The Speech‑Language Pathologist will provide evaluation, intervention, and consultation services to elementary students while collaborating with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary team members. Although the anticipated assignment is with 1st–3rd grade students, grade levels may be adjusted based on district needs and the timing of hire.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct speech‑language therapy to students with a variety of communication needs.
  • Conduct evaluations and prepare comprehensive assessment reports.
  • Develop and implement IEP goals and participate in IEP meetings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and service logs in accordance with district and state requirements.
  • Support students' communication skills to promote academic, social, and functional success.
  • Primary assignment with 1st–3rd grade students, with the possibility of supporting Preschool or 4th–5th grade depending on district needs.
  • Woodland schools are known for smaller caseloads and multiple SLPs at each building, creating a highly collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Dedicated office space provided.
Qualifications
  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech‑Language Pathologist endorsement.
  • Master's degree in Speech‑Language Pathology.
  • School‑based experience is preferred but not required.
