Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Lexington in Lexington, KY is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders, improving patient quality of life. The role requires advanced clinical knowledge, diagnostic and therapeutic skills, and a patient-centered approach.

You will conduct comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and help advance department protocols.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
  • Certification in Speech-Language Pathology (ASHA) preferred or per hire.
  • CPR/BLS certification required or upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders for referred patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans per patient goals.
  • Reassess progress regularly and modify treatment as needed to maximize functional independence.
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, and outcomes in patient records per regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the care team to advance departmental protocols and patient care quality.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Speech Language Pathologist, you will be a vital clinician, expertly assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to significantly improve patient quality of life.

Every day, you will conduct comprehensive evaluations for all referred patients, meticulously implementing individualized treatment plans. You'll contribute clinical expertise to develop/upgrade treatment programs/protocols, and actively shape departmental and organizational goals.

To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced clinical knowledge, exceptional diagnostic/therapeutic skills, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Evaluates assigned patients within the guidelines established by the therapist and in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Implements competent treatment and performs regular reassessments for the purpose of treatment modification, to maximize patient’s potential for functional independence, all in accordance of departmental standards.
  • Completes all required documentation and maintains pertinent records of all assigned patients, in order to be in compliance with Joint Commission, CARF, Medicare, and all other regulatory requirements.
  • Displays the ability to be efficient and productive by organizing job duties and responsibilities.
  • Maintains effective communication regarding Therapy programs and departmental issues.

  • Masters Of Science Speech Pathology from a school accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. and Prior student or work experience in a Rehab setting., upon hire
