Department: Inpatient Rehabilitation- Speech Language Pathology

Shift’s Available: Days

Employment Type: Per Diem/PRN

Hours: 8-hour shift (Some Weekends will be required)

Location: Saint John Hospital, Leavenworth, KS

An Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) specializes in diagnosing and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. SLPs work with individuals of all ages to improve communication skills and enhance quality of life by developing and implementing individualized treatment plans. Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) work closely with other healthcare professionals and educate patients and family members about communication strategies to improve the patient's speech in their daily life.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

  • Assess and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's in Speech Therapy
  • Licensed by the state in Speech-Language Pathology

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus
  • MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • One year of experience with swallow assessment and treatment in an acute care hospital setting
  • One year of experience in acute care
