Job description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) for a part‑time, contract position (10‑20 hours per week) at our Lakewood Ranch, FL location. The role offers flexible hours with the potential for an increase in hours as our client base expands.

As a Pediatric Speech‑Language Pathologist at Word Therapy, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing treatment for a range of communication and swallowing disorders in pediatric patients. You will work closely with children, their families, and a team of healthcare professionals to create and implement tailored treatment plans that foster development and improve quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to diagnose communication and swallowing disorders in pediatric patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address speech, language, and swallowing challenges.
  • Collaborate effectively with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide education and support to families regarding treatment goals and progress.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records and documentation.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments and techniques in speech‑language pathology through ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or certification in Speech‑Language Pathology.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric speech and language disorders, as well as effective treatment methodologies.
  • Proven experience working with children with speech and language impairments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
