Job summary

Post-Acute Rehab Solutions Therapy in Henderson, TX is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our team on a PRN basis. The role focuses on delivering direct speech therapy, counseling families, and developing patient-specific goals within an interdisciplinary care model.

You will work with patients, review plans of care, and contribute to ongoing education to enhance professional practice and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Therapy and licensure in Texas.
• Master's degree in speech therapy is required.
• Proficiency in software for documentation and report preparation.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.
• Experience handling sensitive patient records and information.
• Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware used in speech pathology.
• Physical endurance for standing during sessions.
• Friendly, professional demeanor with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct speech therapy services to patients as ordered by a physician and per the Plan of Care.
• Prepare engaging exercises and activities for speech sessions.
• Provide counseling and consultations for new patients and families.
• Create goals and progress plans for patients and identify challenges.
• Prepare speech pathology equipment with proper sterilization and safety procedures.
• Review patient files before appointments to understand the challenges.
• Attend continuing education courses to advance knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct speech therapy services to patients as ordered by a physician and in accordance with the Plan of Care.
• Prepare engaging exercises and activities to use during speech sessions with patients
• Provide counseling and consultations for new patients and their family members
• Create goals and objectives for patients to work toward and identify areas of progress and challenges
• Prepare speech pathology equipment ensuring proper sterilization and safety procedures are followed
• Review the patient's file prior to their appointment and have a clear understanding of the challenge to be addressed
• Attend continuing education courses and work to advance personal knowledge and experience within the field

Requirements

• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Therapy and Licensed in the State of Texas
• Proficiency in computer software commonly used for documentation and report preparation
• Master's degree in speech therapy is required
• Demonstrate knowledge and adherence to HIPAA legislation and other patient privacy law
• Experience working with sensitive and personal patient records and information
• Proficient in troubleshooting common software and hardware challenges in relation to the regular use of speech pathology tools
• Physical endurance and the ability to work primarily in a standing position
• A friendly and professional demeanor is required when explaining procedures and treatments
• Accountability and attention to detail is essential when handling and documenting patient data.
