Job Summary and Qualifications

The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care, developing individualized therapy programs for communication, cognitive, and swallowing impairments. Responsibilities include patient assessments, establishing treatment goals, and educating patients, families, and colleagues.

What You Will Do in This Role:
  • Coordinate speech-language pathology care for acutely ill patients with cognitive, swallowing, or language deficits.
  • Document evaluations, treatment plans, and responses to interventions.
  • Assess the efficacy of interventions and outcomes, utilizing support personnel as needed.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including therapists, nurses, physicians, and other health professionals.
Qualifications Needed:
  • Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • License issued by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) by the American Speech and Hearing Association.
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in a clinical setting (acute, inpatient rehab, pediatrics, outpatient).
  • Current BLS certification.
