UPMC Home Health is hiring a Casual Speech Language Pathologist (Harrisburg, Carlisle)
This position will support and provide in-home services, providing diagnostic and rehabilitative services to people of all ages regarding speech, language, voice, swallowing, cognitive disorders, and dysfunctions to maximize functional ability and improve quality of life. Evaluate and treat patients within ST scope for speech, cognitive, and swallow training. Point of Care documentation. Collaborates within an interdisciplinary team to provide effective, quality care, promoting safety, and helping to progress patients towards goal achievement.
This position is casual-as-needed basis.
Responsibilities:

- Perform duties and job responsibilities in a fashion that coincides with the service management philosophy of UPMC Home Healthcare towards patients, visitors, staff, peers, physicians, and other departments within the organization.
- Continually develop professional skills by assuming responsibility for ongoing continuing education.
- Advise and consult with the family, interdisciplinary staff members, physicians, and other professionals regarding normal and difficult communication and swallowing and specific patient care.
- Maintain and complete all documentation promptly and accurately, including visit assessment, OASIS, 485, and Verbal Orders on the laptop device or in written documentation while in the patient's home and within the agency and regulatory standards.
- Patient care evaluation, therapy, teaching, and counseling - provide complete and accurate speech, language, voice, and swallowing evaluation therapy, instruction, and counseling for infants through geriatrics.
