Job summary

Sentara Health in Hampton, VA seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to assess, plan, and participate in rehabilitative programs addressing speech, swallowing, language, voice, and fluency disorders. The role requires a Bachelor's in Speech-Language Pathology (Master's preferred, Doctorate in Speech desirable) and a state license.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree is preferred for advanced practice.
  • Doctorate in Speech is desirable for specialized roles.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Certification/Licensure
  • Speech Language Pathologist License (Required)
Experience
  • Performs modalities/therapeutic interventions in accordance with accepted standards of care and department policies and procedures.
  • Provides effective instruction to the patient and family through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training. Initiates, develops, and maintains collaborative interactions with internal and external team members, patients, and family members to improve patient outcomes.
  • Productive and efficient in daily operations. Selects and performs the appropriate assessment procedures.
  • Establishes and updates formal plan of care to address individual patient needs.
