The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for supervising and participating in the application of a variety of speech and cognitive therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients. Work is full-time during weekdays, performed at the clinic with occasional work at the residential site or in the community. Work is PRN during weekdays, Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm.

Job Tasks
  • Examines and evaluates patients, identifies communication/cognitive problems, including the type of problems such as cognition, dysarthria, apraxia, language, dysfluency, dysphagia, etc., the causal and/or maintaining factors, and the severity of the problems.
  • Develops, updates, and implements individualized patient treatment plans including long and short-term goals. Treatment activities may include, but are not limited to, the Cognition Module, Attention Module, Auditory Rehabilitation Module, Echoic Store, Iconic Store, orientation, passive breathing, thermal stimulation, etc.
  • Performs reporting procedures.
  • Consults with patients, families, and therapists from various clinic disciplines to instruct, advise or inform them of procedures and tests.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders required.
  • Current or eligible for Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association required.
  • Current licensure or license eligible to practice professional Speech Pathology in California.
