Job Summary:

Elite DNA Behavioral Health is seeking to hire an enthusiastic Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in the Ft. Myers Office.

SLPs must have the following important qualities: great verbal, written, listening, and excellent communication skills. Candidates must be compassionate, have excellent critical-thinking skills, and be detail-focused. Patience, great collaboration, and consultation skills are required.

Responsibilities:

1. Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and social communication disorders.
2. Provide standardized tests and other instruments to properly diagnose.
3. Interpret results of evaluations.
4. Identify treatment options.
5. Create and carry out Individualized Plan of Care.
6. Maintain Active Plan of Cares.
7. Perform administrative tasks such as keeping accurate records and supervision.
8. Treat speech, language, and pragmatic communication disorders.
9. Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals.
10. Work collaboratively with professionals from other disciplines.
11. Supervise Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) and Clinical Fellowship students (CFYs).

Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) at Elite DNA Behavioral Health work with a variety of clients including but not limited to:

1. Children with delayed speech/language development.
2. Children with delayed play development and delayed pragmatic language skills.
3. Children diagnosed with Autism spectrum and other syndromes/disorders.
4. Children with language processing disorders and language-based learning disabilities.
5. Children who stutter.
6. Children with voice disorders.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Oral and written language proficiency.
2. Attention to detail and good record-keeping.
3. Knowledge of a variety of assessment tools.
4. Collaborative attitude.
5. Familiarity with developmental language skills.

Education/Experience Required:

1. Master’s degree in Communication Disorders (Clinical Fellowships considered).
2. Speech Language Pathologists MUST have a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and a state license which needs to be renewed as required.
