Base pay range

$75.00/hr - $77.00/hr

Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, no weekends. Typically, will work 40 hours per week. If work is completed for the day, the temp will be sent home. No Overtime Work.

Position Summary

This role involves evaluating and treating residents/patients with temporary or long-term speech, hearing, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Responsibilities include assessing speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency, and developing treatment plans based on a physician’s directives.

Essential Functions
  • Screens and evaluates patients/residents and develops appropriate care plans.
  • Provides direct patient/resident treatment under a physician's direction based on established plans of care.
  • Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency for individuals with communication and/or swallowing or cognitive problems.
  • Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
  • Instructs residents/patients, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
  • Completes required forms and clinical records in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
  • Documents in patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.
  • Provides comprehensive and compassionate therapy services in a sub-acute/skilled nursing facility setting.
  • Works collaboratively with other rehab therapists and nursing staff in a supportive team-working environment.
  • Maintains resident/patient privacy pursuant to HIPAA.
  • Ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.
Other Functions
  • Develops treatment plans, including short and long-term goals and methods to achieve identified goals.
  • Communicates the resident’s/patient’s speech therapy program to the family and/or client.
  • Keeps written documentation including evaluations, daily notes, and weekly summaries.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Current knowledge of effective speech therapy techniques.
  • Familiarity with clinical needs of the geriatric population.
  • Strong clinical capabilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
  • Active license in Speech Language Pathology in the State of Arizona.
  • Entry-level candidates who are new to the field are encouraged to apply.
