Job summary

MedCadre is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. The SLP will develop individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, educate patients and caregivers, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

The role requires a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, an active SLP license, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Active SLP license in the state of practice.
• CCC-SLP certification preferred/required as applicable.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Speech-Language Pathology experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
• Provide therapy for speech, language, voice, cognition, and communication disorders.
• Evaluate and treat dysphagia and swallowing difficulties.
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapy techniques, communication strategies, and safe swallowing practices.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and patient conferences.
• Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.

Education

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Active SLP license in state of practice

CCC-SLP (preferred/required as applicable)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
• Provide therapy for speech, language, voice, cognition, and communication disorders.
• Evaluate and treat dysphagia and swallowing difficulties.
• Recommend appropriate communication strategies, adaptive equipment, and assistive devices.
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapy techniques, communication strategies, and safe swallowing practices.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and patient conferences.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of practice.
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred/required as applicable.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Speech-Language Pathology experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Excellent communication, clinical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, SNF, home health, or long-term care settings.
• Experience with dysphagia management and instrumental swallowing assessments preferred.
• Experience treating stroke, neurological, geriatric, post-surgical, or medically complex patients.
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
