Job summary

Navigator Academy of Leadership is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to join our student services team. The SLP will evaluate, diagnose, and provide therapy for students with speech, language, and communication disorders, working closely with teachers and families to support student success in the classroom.

The SLP conducts evaluations under IDEA/IEP guidelines, develops IEP goals, and provides direct therapy while collaborating with educators and parents.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a CAA-accredited program.
  • Active Florida SLP license issued by the Florida Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology (Department of Health).
  • Florida Department of Education certification in Speech-Language Impaired (K-12) under Florida Statute Chapter 1012 (requires a master's degree with a minimum of 60 semester hours in speech-language pathology, including 300 clock hours of supervised clinical practice)
  • ASHA CCC-SLP preferred
  • Completion of clinical fellowship as required by the Florida Board, if applicable
  • Experience working with school-age children preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP process and Florida ESE/special education requirements a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct therapy (individual and/or small group) to students in accordance with IEPs
  • Collaborate with teachers, ESE staff, and parents to support student communication needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility determinations, and annual reviews
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school, state (FLDOE), and federal requirements
  • Monitor and report student progress toward IEP goals
  • Conduct PK–12 hearing screenings as required by Florida statute, where applicable
