  • Function independently and as a team member; communicate effectively in writing and verbally; document client records.
  • Participate in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings to discuss recommendations and interpretation of results.
  • Coordinate care with school, medical, residential and day program staff; accompany clients to providers as needed.
  • Provide staff training on mealtime plans, communication profiles, and assistive technology devices.
  • Maintain current state licenses and follow payor guidelines; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

8:00am - 4:00pm Mon -Fri TN PT License

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assess, develop, implement, and monitor dysphagia/mealtime guidelines and plans, assistive technology plans, and speech assessments.
  • Function independently and as a team member. Should be able to teach in a variety of settings to people with varying educational backgrounds and literacy levels. Should be able to communicate well both verbally and in writing. Maintain appropriate documentation for client records.
  • Participate in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings to discuss collaborative recommendations including interpreting evaluation and/or treatment results and recommendations.
  • Coordinate care of the individual with school, medical staff, residential and day program staff, and other team members. This may include accompanying people to community providers.
  • Provide training to staff. Training includes mealtime plans, communication profiles, and/or assistive technology devices.
  • Provide ongoing assistance, consultation, and support.
  • Maintain current state licenses.
  • Follow all guidelines as established by the payor of services.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications Education:

Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology, Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology, and Tennessee and Georgia Licensure. Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience. Prefer previous experience in the developmental disabilities field of service. Professional & other skill set: Licensed SLP, basic computer skills with Microsoft software, ability to communicate professionally and effectively.

Physical Requirements: Health must be adequate to allow for efficient accomplishment of assigned duties to and responsibilities.

Job Requirements: 90-Day Evaluation Period. All Orange Grove Center required training and orientation.
