Job summary

Avir Trilogy at Brownwood is seeking a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist to join our in-house therapy team. This opportunity offers flexible hours, supplemental income, and the chance to provide skilled services to residents.

You will assess and treat communication and swallowing disorders, collaborating with physicians and staff to support resident independence. A Texas license and CCC‑SLP are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license.
• ASHA CCC-SLP certification.
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide skilled speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing therapy.
• Address communication, cognitive, and swallowing needs.
• Use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies when appropriate.
• Educate residents, families, caregivers, and facility staff.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation.
• Support resident-centered care and applicable regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Do

As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you'll provide skilled speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing services to help residents improve their communication, safety, independence, and overall quality of life.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluating residents and developing individualized treatment plans
• Providing skilled speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing therapy
• Addressing communication, cognitive, and swallowing needs
• Using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies when appropriate
• Educating residents, families, caregivers, and facility staff

• Completing timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Supporting resident-centered care and applicable regulatory requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Active Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP)
• License in good standing with applicable licensing boards and regulatory agencies
• Long‑term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric experience preferred, but not required
• Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Net Health documentation experience is a plus
• Ability to collaborate effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Passion for helping residents achieve their highest level of independence
