Southern Maine Administrative Collaborative is seeking:

Speech and Language Pathologist for grades K -12

We are seeking Speech Language Pathologist. This is a full time position. SMAC is an inter-district agency providing special education services to children from preschool through grade 12, throughout the state of Maine. We are part of a state-wide initiative fostering collaboration between districts to fill special service provider shortages, achieving efficiencies for schools and cost-savings for taxpayers. Our team of SLP’s, Psychologists, Special Educators, and Behavioral Health Professionals serve Maine's young learners in districts from Kittery to Madawaska.

Brief Job Duties:

  • Assessing children’s communication skills for the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility and developing recommendations for treatment.
  • Collaborating with a variety of groups and/or individuals for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues and providing services in compliance with established guidelines.
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans, interventions and/or educational materials for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of communication disorders in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Certification/License:

  • Valid Speech Pathologist license as issued by the Maine State Board of Examiners on Speech Pathology and Audiology.
  • Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education.

Education:

Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology and a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology.

Experience:

Successful prior experience working with the appropriate grade levels is preferred, but not required.
