Southern Maine Administrative Collaborative is seeking:

Speech and Language Pathologist for grades K - 12

We are seeking a full‑time Speech Language Pathologist to serve children from preschool through grade 12. SMAC is an inter‑district agency providing special education services across Maine, fostering collaboration between districts to address provider shortages and create efficiencies for schools and taxpayers.

As part of a dynamic team that includes psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, special educators, and behavioral health professionals, you will have the flexibility to shape your career while making a meaningful impact on students.

Brief Job Duties
  1. Assess children’s communication skills to identify disorders, determine program eligibility, and develop recommendations for treatment.
  2. Collaborate with various groups and individuals to communicate information, resolve issues, and provide services in compliance with established guidelines.
  3. Develop and implement treatment plans, interventions, and educational materials to minimize the adverse impact of communication disorders while meeting regulatory requirements.
Certification / License
  • Valid Speech Pathologist license issued by the Maine State Board of Examiners on Speech Pathology and Audiology.
  • Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) and fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education.
Education

Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology and a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology.

Experience

Prior experience working with the appropriate grade levels is preferred, but not required.
