Job description

MissionCare at Bennington is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist to join the team.

Job Summary:

The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for evaluating, planning, directing, and administering therapy treatments as prescribed by a licensed physician. The role includes providing therapy to restore function, prevent disability following injury or disease, and assist patients in achieving their highest level of performance and independence within their capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Observe and evaluate treatment effectiveness; recommend changes to physicians when appropriate.

  • Perform patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and conduct reassessments in accordance with policy.

  • Develop and implement teaching plans based on identified learning needs; involve patients and families in the learning process.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in speech therapy modalities.

  • Treat patients and families with respect and dignity; address psychosocial needs as appropriate.

  • Manage and operate therapy equipment safely; ensure department cleanliness and safety.

  • Collaborate with patients and families in the development of care plans.

  • Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and the administrative team.

  • Coordinate and direct patient care to meet facility policies and patient needs.

  • Maintain accurate records related to staff and departmental operations.

  • Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and the ability to perform under stress.

  • Maintain strong working relationships within and across departments.

  • Collaborate with other departments to support patient care and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Meet all documentation standards and comply with policies.

  • Participate in staff education, training, and performance improvement in-services.

  • Assist with orientation and training of new certified staff members.

  • Provide evaluations for certified staff.

Qualifications:
  • Licensed Speech Language Pathologist (or eligibility for licensure).
