Job summary

Appleton Village School in Appleton, Maine seeks a contracted Speech/Language Pathologist to provide K-8 services two days per week. The role includes screening, direct therapy, and consultation, with evaluation duties as needed.

You will complete state paperwork, attend IEP meetings, and collaborate with teachers and other specialists to support language development. Maine licensure and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Maine SLP licensure is required.
• Experience in an educational setting preferred.
• Background check (Maine Criminal History) required.

Responsibilities

• Identify students in need of speech/language therapy services K-8; including screening incoming kindergarten students, newly transferred students, new referrals.
• Provide speech/language services to identified students, including direct therapy and consultation; conduct evaluations as needed.

Reports to: Special Education Director

Candidate Will

• Identify students in need of speech/language therapy services K-8; including screening incoming kindergarten students, newly transferred students, new referrals.
• Provide speech/language services to identified students. Including direct speech/language therapy and consultation. Conduct evaluations as needed.
• Be familiar with and be able to complete required State Special Education paperwork associated with evaluation reports, IEPs and progress reports.
• Attend IEP meetings.
• Collaborate with teachers and other service providers to assist in making modifications and accommodations in their classroom and in developing language activities.
