Job summary

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for a PRN/per diem/as-needed role in Sarasota, FL. The position involves planning and administering treatment programs for communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, and serving as an educator to patients, families, and colleagues.

You will participate in comprehensive assessments, establish goals, and collaborate with the healthcare team to support optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify treatment plans following hospital policies.
  • Assess progress and determine when intervention is no longer required or beneficial.
  • Coordinate continuing services and refer to other professionals as needed.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals. The Speech Therapist serves as an educator to patients, families, students and colleagues.

We are currently seeking an ambitious Speech Therapist to join our team on a PRN/per diem/as-needed basis. As a Speech Language Pathologist on our team, you will plan and administer medically prescribed treatment programs for the rehabilitation of speech, language, cognitive, and oral motor disorders. Your duties and responsibilities may include:
  • Evaluate the patient’s condition, obtain case history, and administer diagnostic tests to determine nature and degree of speech and language problem
  • Establish, implement, and modify treatment plans, in accordance with hospital/department policies and procedures
  • Determine when patient progress and goals have been met or medical necessity no longer warrants intervention
  • Establish provisions for continuing services and make referrals to other professionals regarding patient care as necessary
