Schedule: PRN

Shift : Day; Will need to work at least 2 weekend shifts/month, possibly 2 additional weekday shifts/month. Hours are flexible, starting any time after 8am. 1-2 holidays/year.

The role you’ll contribute:

Responsible for a continuum of services providing care to patients with neurological, swallowing, speech-language, cognitive, pragmatic, voice and other cognitive related disorders requiring intervention by a Speech-Language Pathologist through an interdisciplinary approach. Utilizes rehab process to promote and restore optimal health to well-being of the patient. Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.

The community you will be caring for:

AdventHealth Parker is a 170 bed, level ll Trauma center located in Parker, CO. Our inpatient therapist see a variety of patients across the hospital units including ICU, Cardiac, Stroke, Spine and Orthopedic, Med/Surg, Oncology, PACU, and ED. Position dependent, therapist work a variety of weekdays and are required to cover two weekend shifts per month. Previous inpatient/acute care is preferred but not required. New graduates are encouraged to apply!

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Evaluates patients referred to speech therapy by completing initial profile within time standards per department protocol.
  • Applies appropriate diagnostic and prognostic tests including but not limited to dysphagia, aphasia, language, voice, speech, and cognitive deficits.
  • Standardized testing will include special tests to determine level of disability and track outcomes over the patient care experience.
  • Performs a variety of therapeutic interventions including but not limited to swallowing, voice, speech-language, and cognitive skills.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications; the expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • Master’s degree in speech-language therapy with a Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • Current Speech Language Pathologist Certification with the State of Colorado
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association

  • Previous inpatient/acute care experience
