Job summary

TELUS Digital advances AI speech technologies including ASR, TTS, voice AI, and audio ML. As an AI Speech & Audio Specialist in our AI Community, you will help evaluate, edit, and improve speech datasets and model outputs to ensure natural, accurate, and culturally relevant voice experiences.

You will work on phonetics, linguistics, and audio processing tasks, collaborating across languages and dialects on a globally distributed remote team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in audio/speech fields or related experience.
• Experience in audio production or speech data creation is preferred.
• Proven ability to edit, segment, and quality-check speech content.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated speech (TTS) for naturalness and pronunciation.
• Review ASR outputs for transcription accuracy and linguistic nuances.
• Perform professional audio editing including segmentation and noise reduction.
• Analyze recordings with waveform and spectrogram tools to identify quality issues.
• Support creation and validation of high-quality speech datasets for training.
• Review voice recordings for clarity and technical quality.
• Conduct audio quality checks including loudness and clipping.
• Support voice AI projects including TTS/ASR and evaluation.
• Apply phonetics/linguistics to improve AI voice experiences.
