Job Description: Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP)

V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) for our premier client in Nashville, Tennessee.

What You’ll Do

Job Responsibilities:

1. Work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment to meet communication and mealtime/swallowing needs of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
2. No insurance billing required! All SLP services are state funded through the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
3. Provide consultation-based communication and swallowing services to adults with IDD in Middle Tennessee Homes, with direct services as needed.
4. Initiate and facilitate staff training to ensure proper implementation of mealtime and communication interventions.
5. Provide intensive communication and swallowing services to children in DCS custody served through TN Strong Family Home at Middle Tennessee Homes.
6. Provide recommendations for individualized support plans.
7. Request orders for videofluoroscopic swallow studies and attend swallow studies as indicated.
8. Order communication devices/environmental control units as needed.
9. Complete monthly and quarterly monitoring to ensure fidelity of staff-implemented plans.
10. Provide onboarding training for new staff/nurses.
11. Complete annual assessments related to swallowing, choking risk, and communication for each resident.
12. Provide assessment consultation for residents at The Harold Jordan Center as needed, along with treatment/discharge recommendations.
