Job summary

Spring Lake Park Schools is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to support students with speech and language needs district-wide, serving General and Special Education settings from Centerview Elementary through 4th grade. The role involves direct service under supervision, lesson planning, and documentation.

The ideal candidate holds an AAS or BS in SLHS with SLPA credentials, has Minnesota SLPA licensure, and demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication abilities, ensuring

  • AAS degree or BS in Speech and Language Hearing Sciences with SLPA coursework/credits.
  • Minnesota SLPA license from MN Department of Health is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct articulation, language, and related services under SLP supervision.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans for speech services.
  • Prepare progress reports and documentation for student services.
  • Draft present levels of performance and skill ideas for SLP review.
  • Prepare materials and visuals for SLPA-supported services.
  • Assist with transitions to general education and with SLPA-led interventions.

Program Information:

This position will work withstudents district wideand their families,servicing students in General and Special Education settings within Centerview Elementary School, Early Childhood through 4th grade students.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will provide excellent instruction and case management skills to students with speech/language and other types of disabilities.This includes:

  • Provide direct service in articulation, stuttering, and language under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
  • Develop lesson plans for providing service
  • Prepare progress reports and day-to-day documentation for student service
  • Draft present levels of performance for review by SLP
  • Draft skill ideas to work on for review by SLP
  • Prep materials and make visuals for speech services provided to students for SLP and SLPA as needed
  • Assist with Transitioning skills into general ed.
  • Assist with interventions set up by SLP

Qualifications:

Necessary qualifications include...

  • AAS Degree, or;
  • BS in Speech and Language Hearing Sciences with additional transcript credits and hours obtained within an SLPA program
  • License through the State of Minnesota (SLPA from the MN Department of Health)
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Maintains confidentiality/data privacy
Wage + Benefits:
  • Group: Healthcare Specialists
  • Position: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant
  • Rate of Pay: $29.75/hr, +$1.00/hr differential if individual holds a BA
