Job summary

Minnesota Valley Education District is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to provide direct instruction for students qualifying for speech/language services. Under the direction of a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), the SLPA will coordinate services, provide therapy, and collaborate with educational staff to enhance student communication.

The ideal candidate will hold an Associates degree or Bachelor's degree in communication sciences, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively with others.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required or a Bachelor's in communication sciences or disorders.
• Excellent communication skills in high-stress situations.
• Willingness to work with students receiving SLP services.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services targeting speech/language goals in student IEPs.
• Develop lesson plans and prepare materials for speech services.
• Conduct articulation screenings and assist with transitioning skills.

Skills

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication

Ability to create and write correspondence

Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff

Ability to maintain regular attendance

Education

Associates degree from a speech-language pathology assistant program

Bachelor's degree in communication sciences or disorders
