Easterseals of Northeast Ohio is seeking an energetic and compassionate full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to serve our clients and help make a difference. NEW GRADS WELCOME! Pay will be based on experience.

No weekends or holidays are required. The Speech Pathologist will provide rehabilitative and educational services that improve speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders, providing evaluations and treatment on-site in our outpatient facility that serves pediatrics primarily.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program with a degree in Speech and Language Pathology; current Ohio licensure or Conditional License by the Board of Speech and Language Pathologists; licensure in good standing.

Responsibilities

  • Review physician referrals and provide medical information to assist in diagnosis and therapy treatment.
  • Complete appropriate evaluation to establish goals and treatment plans.
  • Initiate treatment plans and advance attainment of established goals according to consumer response.
  • Collaborate with the consumer or designated family members to match the level of involvement in the Plan of Care and provide education regarding pathology and prognosis.
  • Discharges consumers from therapy upon goal attainment and provides for appropriate follow-up care or referrals as deemed appropriate.

SUMMARY:
Easterseals of Northeast Ohio is seeking an energetic and compassionate full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to serve our clients and help make a difference. NEW GRADS WELCOME! Pay will be based on experience. No weekends or holidays are required

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Speech Pathologist will provide rehabilitative and educational services that improve speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.Providing evaluations and treatment on-site in our outpatient facility that serves pediatrics primarily. Providing evaluations only, on-site in our newly added Autism Diagnostic Clinic.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review physician referrals and provide medical information to assist in diagnosis and therapy treatment, as required.
  • Complete appropriate evaluation to establish goals and treatment plans.
  • Initiate treatment plans and advance the attainment of established goals according to consumer response.
  • Collaborate with the consumer or designated family members to match the level of involvement in the Plan of Care, treatment process, and the established time frames for goal attainment, and provide education regarding pathology and prognosis.
  • Identify the need to have the physician reassess or perform a therapeutic reassessment of the consumer in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines to provide an interdisciplinary treatment approach as deemed appropriate.
  • Discharges consumers from therapy upon goal attainment or achievement of projected outcomes and provides for appropriate follow-up care or referrals as deemed appropriate.
  • Completes documentation in real-time unless prohibited by consumer care and then completes it in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that documentation is completed by established standards and includes the following components at a minimum: evaluation findings, treatment provided, consumer response, relevant communication, education, plan of care revisions, update of goals, and progress.
  • Serve as an effective educator and mentor to consumers served, families, or other staff, and the community.
  • Provides treatment to include a holistic approach that maintains the highest level of professional morals and ethics; compassion; knowledge, and clinical reasoning.
  • Continuously works to improve the work environment and processes and demonstrates a patient and family-centered focus when considering/developing improvement solutions to work environment/processes.
  • Meets and maintains clinical-specific and organizational skills/competencies, certifications/licensures as required.
  • Maintains knowledge of the area of specialty, healthcare trends, practice, and populations served.
  • Meets or exceeds established productivity expectations of the department within scheduled timeframes and with expected or superior clinical outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an accredited program with a degree in Speech and Language Pathology; current Ohio licensure or Conditional License by the Board of Speech and Language Pathologists; licensure in good standing.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of evidence-based, client-centered intervention and speech and language services for children and adults.
  • Knowledge of neurodevelopmental disabilities and the development of appropriate measurable goals.
  • Knowledge of human behavior, performance, and individual differences and cultures.
  • Knowledge of stages of development and age groups served, including infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors.
  • Ability to interact positively and compassionately with consumers, co-workers, and representatives from the community.
  • Ability to establish appropriate treatment plans and implement age-appropriate treatment techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing.
  • Ability to solve issues.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Displays a high level of motivation and a self-imposed standard of excellence.
  • Must be organized and able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Must be honest, dependable, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Must exercise sound judgment in making decisions and act accordingly.

EQUIPMENT USED/MACHINERY REQUIRED TO OPERATE:

  • Proficient use of standard office equipment, Microsoft Office applications, applicable software programs, and other technology required to perform assigned duties.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Frequently requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and a full range of body motion.
  • Manual dexterity is necessary.
  • Good eye/hand coordination
  • Visual and auditory acuity to perform essential functions.
  • Potential exposure to blood and body fluids and communicable diseases.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/ $30 - $40 per hour based on experience
Classification: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
