Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seeks licensed teachers for the West Side location to provide instruction, monitor student progress, and manage classroom discipline under the supervision of the principal. You will contribute to setting goals for IEPs and work with case managers and counselors to address students' instructional and social needs.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team focused on promoting student wellbeing, equity, and high expectations, while maintaining strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Illinois State Board of Education teaching license with the appropriate endorsement(s).
• Completion of the CPS online application and teaching profile at cps.edu/teach.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, monitor progress, track student performance, and manage classroom behavior under the principal's supervision.
• Set goals for individualized education plans aligning with State of Illinois IEP guidelines.
• Collaborate with case managers, counselors, and general education teachers to support students' instructional and social needs.
• Participate on multidisciplinary teams to promote students' wellbeing and equity.
• Demonstrate strong communication and professional judgment in interactions with administration, colleagues, families, and students.
• Ensure student safety by following the Student Code of Conduct and school-wide discipline systems.
