Job summary

Liberal Public Schools is seeking a SPED Pre-K Classroom Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in Liberal, Kansas. The position offers up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates and a pathway to impactful work with a diverse, Title I district.

The role focuses on plan-deliver standards-based instruction aligned with Kansas College and Career Ready Standards, creating safe, inclusive classrooms, differentiating instruction, and using data to drive instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Elementary Education or a related field.
• Valid Kansas teaching license or eligibility to obtain Kansas licensure with the appropriate endorsement.
• Knowledge of effective instructional practices, classroom management, and child development.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to providing an equitable and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction aligned with district curriculum and Kansas College and Career Ready Standards.
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs of students.
• Use research-based instructional strategies and educational technology to maximize student learning.
• Monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments and use data to guide instruction.
• Maintain accurate student records, grades, attendance, and required documentation.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, interventionists, special education staff, instructional coaches, and administrators.
• Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional learning, and school improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.
