Job summary

KIPP Kansas City Public Schools in Missouri is seeking a High School SPED Master Teacher (Sign-On Incentive $5,000) to lead self-contained special education instruction. The role emphasizes rigorous instructional delivery and collaborative planning within our diverse urban campus.

As part of the Teacher department, you will deliver instruction, assess growth, and collaborate with general education teachers to meet IEP goals while supporting equity and access for all students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university.
• Missouri teaching license with required Special Education certification.
• Commitment to equity and teamwork.
• Background check satisfactory.

Responsibilities

• Provide modifications and accommodations as stated on the student’s IEP.
• Write IEPs with appropriate data on student performance for all students on caseload.
• Facilitate ARD meetings for students on their caseloads.
• Provide testing accommodations as needed in a one‑on‑one or small group setting.
• Collaborate with general education teachers on strategies to support students in general education.
• Progress monitor goals and objectives for students on their caseload.
• Document Parent Contact and Service Minutes into eSPED.
• Document Behavior and Restraint into eSPED.
• Other duties as specified by school leadership teams.
