Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking a SpEd Para II to support the instructional program under the direction of an assigned classroom teacher.

You will assist in the supervision, care and instruction of special needs students in the regular classroom or in a self-contained classroom; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior during instructional and non-instructional time; and providing information to appropriate school personnel.

Qualifications

• Assists in implementing plans for instruction and supports IEP goals.
• Maintains safety and order in various school environments.
• Collects data to support teachers and reports.
• Attends trainings to enhance job performance.

Responsibilities

• Adapts activities and materials under supervision to reinforce objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers basic first aid and health-related assistance as needed.
• Assists students with self-care activities.
• Monitors student behavior during instructional and non-instructional times.
• Coordinates with instructional staff to evaluate progress and implement objectives.
