Job summary

USD 259 is seeking a Para Sped High Incidence for the 2026-2027 School Year (0.81 FTE) in Wichita, KS. Under supervision, you will assist the licensed staff with instructional support, classroom organization, behavior management, and communication with students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities include supervising students, implementing behavior plans, coordinating with teachers on instructional setups, integrating technology, and supporting student engagement and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 48 college credits preferred
• Sign language modalities or Nonviolent Crisis Intervention knowledge a plus
• Ability to work with students with cognitive/communication disabilities

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in class as directed by the teacher
• Assist in managing classroom routines and procedures
• Assist in behavior interventions and crisis situations
• Assist with instruction for individual or small groups
• Assist with IEP development and instructional planning
