Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Paras must have 48 accredited college credits or pass a state assessment.
• Must pass the Physical Capacity Test (PCP).
• In-service training in first aid, child abuse symptoms, and/or symptoms of illness required.
• Knowledge of sign language modalities, Braille, and/or NCI or similar skills preferred.
• Ability to work with students with intensive needs in SPED.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in class as directed by teachers.
• Assist in managing classroom routines and procedures.
• Support behavior interventions and document incidents.
• Assist students to and from classes and activities.
• Prepare instructional materials and learning centers.
• Assist with IEP planning and progress reporting.
