Job summary

Dayton Independent School District is seeking a SPED Instructional Aide to assist in a special education setting under the supervision of a certified teacher and the principal. The role starts immediately and is full-time, with hourly pay between $13 and $15.60.

The successful candidate will help prepare instructional materials, maintain an orderly classroom, and support student care and records. Confidentiality and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas educational aide certificate.
• Option A: ≥2 years of college.
• Option B: an associate’s degree or higher.
• Option C: meet a rigorous standard of quality test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Keep the classroom neat and orderly.
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist teacher with administrative records and reports.
• Provide orientation to substitute teachers.
• Support students with disabilities, including transfers and personal care.
• Supervise students during lunch, bus, and play areas.
