Responsibilities

• Perform duties as designated by the teacher, principal, and special education coordinator.
• Work with individuals and/or small groups to reinforce academic and behavioral skills introduced by the teacher.
• Perform clerical and record-keeping duties as assigned by the principal and teacher.
• Handle discipline as directed by the principal and teacher.
• Operate and care for instructional equipment and materials.
• Report concerns, problems, or relative information about students to the teacher.
• Keep information concerning school business, students, and personnel confidential.
• Observe students during activities, field trips, and community-based work experiences, classroom activities, at home, and other environments.
• Act as a support system to protect instructional time in the classroom.
• Take initiative to carry out duties as they arise to assist the classroom teacher.
• Must read and follow all academic and behavioral plans.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
