Description: Itinerant Teacher of the Hearing Impaired (P-12)
Job Summary: Works to develop and provide appropriate special education program for students who meet eligibility criteria for the hearing impaired program.
Position Purpose: Under the general supervision of the Special Education Director and School Principal, to maximize the learning experience of students with hearing impairments, in academics, interpersonal skills and activities of daily living by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities; addressing students' specific needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
Essential Functions:
Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
