Job summary

Qualifications

• Expert-level knowledge of spectroscopic theory, measurement techniques, and data interpretation.
• Proven experience in materials characterization and quality control applications.
• Strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, R, or similar analytical software platforms.
• Experience with statistical analysis methods including regression analysis and error quantification.

Responsibilities

• Operate, calibrate, and maintain infrared and Raman spectroscopysystems (instruments/microscopes).
• Develop calibration protocols and QA procedures for spectroscopic measurements.
• Stay current with advances in spectroscopy and recommend upgrades or acquisitions.
• Perform infrared and Raman QC measurements to support customer requirements.
• Analyze spectral data to identify material properties and quality issues.
• Generate detailed QC reports with findings, interpretations and recommendations.
• Ensure timely delivery of QC results to meet deadlines.

Position Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled Spectroscopist to lead advanced spectroscopic analysis and quality control operations in support of our internal research and development initiatives.This role requires deep expertise in infrared and Raman spectroscopytechniques,withafocusonmaterialscharacterizationandqualityassurance.Thesuccessfulcandidatewillbe responsible for maintaining critical spectroscopy instrumentation while developing and implementing robust analytical procedures to support our customers and ensure the highest standards of material quality control.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• SpectroscopyInstrumentation&Operations
• Operate,calibrate,andmaintainlaboratoryspectroscopysystemsincludinginfraredspectrometers/microscopesand Raman spectrometers/microscopes
• Ensureoptimalperformanceandaccuracyofallspectroscopicinstrumentationthroughpreventivemaintenanceand troubleshooting
• Developandimplementcalibrationprotocolsandqualityassuranceproceduresforspectroscopicmeasurements
• Staycurrentwithadvancesinspectroscopytechnologyandrecommendequipmentupgradesoracquisitions

Quality Control & Analysis:

• PerformcomprehensiveinfraredandRamanqualitycontrolmeasurementsofmaterialstosupportcustomerrequirements
• Analyzecomplexspectraldatatoidentifymaterialproperties,composition,andpotentialqualityissues
• GeneratedetailedEMXLABQualityControlreportswithclearfindings,interpretations,andrecommendations
• Ensuretimelydeliveryofqualitycontrolresultstomeetprojectdeadlinesandcustomerexpectations

Education/Experience:

A bachelor's degree in a science field (i.e., physics, chemistry) from an accredited college or university with at least 12 years of experienceinexperimental orappliedscience(physics,chemistry,orrelated)ORamaster'sdegreeinasciencefield(i.e.,physics, chemistry) from an accredited college or university with at least 6 years of experience as described above OR a Ph.D. in a natural science.
