Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Specimen Receiving associate for the 1st shift. You will accession specimens or patient tissue materials for testing, and package specimens to be sent out to referring laboratories, with minimal guidance.

You will collaborate with laboratory staff and external customers, perform basic clerical duties, and participate in quality and safety processes to support high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Quality standards and continuous improvement in lab processes.
• Fundamental proficiency in specimen collection and handling.
• General knowledge of laboratory practices and customer service expectations.

Responsibilities

• Sorting, triaging, receiving, sending, processing and batching specimens.
• Processing samples pre-analytically for testing.
• Providing general clerical support.
