Labcorp in Florence, AL is seeking a Specimen Processor II to prepare laboratory specimens for analysis, label and track samples, and ensure accuracy in data entry and order fulfillment. You will work closely with client office staff to resolve issues and maintain quality standards.

The role operates Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm with a 1-hour lunch. Comprehensive benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401(k), PTO or FTO, Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse.
• 2+ years medical or patient-facing healthcare experience.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Communicate effectively with client office staff
• Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated
• Do spinning/freezing/splitting and other special services as needed based on client

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent
• 2 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse
• 2 years or more medical or patient facing healthcare experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 4 years or more medical or patient facing healthcare experience
• 4 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse

Additional Job Standards

• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Experience with MS Office
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
