Job summary

Labcorp in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Specimen Accessioner/Processor for 2nd shift. You will act as a liaison between the lab, clients, and patients, handle inquiries via phone, chat, and email, and assist with specimen preparation and labeling.

The role requires attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Prior Labcorp experience and an Associate degree or higher are preferred.

LabCorp is seeking a Specimen Accessioner/Processor to join our team in San Antonio, TX.

Work Schedule:

2nd Shift, Monday - Friday, 5:00 pm - 1:30 am, with daily overtime as needed and rotating Saturdays.

Job Responsibilities

• Act a liaison between the lab, clients, and patients.
• Resolve internal & external customer requests via calls, instant messenger & email communications
• Communicates with customers in respectful and professional manner.
• Work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions.
• Provide customer education and information as needed.
• Review test forms for accuracy and report any discrepancies.
• Prepare and triage specimens for analysis.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens as necessary.
• Prepare and store excess specimen samples.

Minimum Qualification

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• Associates degree or higher
• 1 year or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience

Additional Job Standards

• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
• Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
