Job summary

Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a dedicated Specimen Processor for a 13-week temporary assignment in Carrollton, TX. The role supports timely diagnostic testing in a fast-paced lab, with a schedule of Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

You will receive, log, and prepare specimens, verify information, and enter data into the LIS while maintaining safety and cleanliness. Candidates should be detail-oriented, reliable, and able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in specimen processing or clinical lab preferred but not required.
• Attention to detail in a high-volume setting.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Reliable to work scheduled shifts.
• Basic data entry and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, and log incoming specimens.
• Verify specimen information against test requisitions.
• Prepare specimens by uncapping, aliquoting, labeling, and sorting.
• Enter data into the LIS.
• Route specimens to testing departments.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the processing area.

Job description

Lighthouse Lab Services is working with a clinical reference laboratory in Carrollton, TX that is seeking a dedicated Specimen Processor to join their team on a temporary 13-week basis. This lab plays a key role in delivering timely and accurate diagnostic testing, and they're looking for individuals who are detail-oriented, dependable, and ready to contribute to a fast-paced laboratory environment. Schedule: Mon-Friday 11a-7:00p

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, and log incoming biological specimens
• Accurately verify specimen information against test requisitions
• Prepare specimens by uncapping, aliquoting, labeling, and sorting by type and priority
• Enter data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
• Route specimens to appropriate departments for testing
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the specimen processing area
• Follow all laboratory safety and compliance protocols

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Previous specimen processing or clinical laboratory experience preferred but not required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a high-volume setting
• Comfortable working with biological specimens
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Basic computer and data entry skills
• Must be able to reliably work scheduled shifts
