Job summary

Labcorp in Englewood, CO is seeking a Specimen Processor for casual/per diem work on 3rd shift. You will introduce and prepare biological specimens, verify demographics, and enter data to support timely, accurate test results.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least one year in healthcare or manufacturing, and comfort handling blood and other specimens. You’ll work both independently and with a team to meet production metrics and quality standards.

• 1+ year healthcare industry experience (lab, clinic, or hospital).
• 1+ year experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment.
• 1+ year experience in a medical/clinical laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Introduce and prepare biological specimens for laboratory processing.
• Verify patient demographics on test requisitions.
• Data entry of patient information into the system for tracking.
• Meet production metrics and quality standards for timely results.
• Unpack and route specimens to staging areas.
• Pack and ship specimens as required.
• Prepare and store excess specimens.
• Resolve and document problematic specimens.
• Operate automated instrumentation under supervision if needed.

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor to join our team in Englewood, CO. Work Schedule: This is a casual/per diem position, hours will be as needed 3rd shift

Responsibilities

• Introduce and prepare biological specimens to the laboratory to ensure accurate processing
• Verify patient demographic information matches the test requisition form submitted
• Data entry of patient information into the computer system for tracking purposes
• Meet key production metrics and quality measures to ensure timely and accurate results
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilitieswhen required
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Resolve and document any problem specimens
• Operate automated instrumentation under supervision if necessary

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Current or prior Labcorp experience 1 year or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital
• 1 year of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment
• 1 year or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience

Additional Job Standards

• Proficient computer and typing skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Comfortable handling human biological specimens including blood, urine and tissue samples
• Ability to lift up to 30lbs, work in protective equipment and sit/stand for long periods of time
• Strong eye hand coordination in order to accurately identify specimens by touch and sight
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to problem solveStrong communication skills; both written and verbal

Pay range: $18.88-$22.22 plus 3rd shift differential All job offers will bebased on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicabledegrees/certifications,as well as internal equity and market data.
