Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join our team in New Hartford, NY. Work schedule: Monday–Friday 4:00 pm - 12:30 am, rotating Saturdays. Responsibilities include preparing specimens, data entry, labeling, and shipping to testing facilities.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and 1 year or more of related experience. Preferred: 1 year in medical or patient-facing healthcare; ability to lift up to 40 lbs and pass a color blindness test.

• 1 year or more experience (lab, accessioning, data entry, manufacturing or warehouse).
• Strong data entry and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Communicate effectively with client office staff.
• Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities.
• Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated.
• Do spinning/freezing/splitting and other special services as needed based on client.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $17.75 - $19.00 per hour

Benefits

• Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
