Job summary

CRMA in Framingham, MA is seeking a full-time Specimen Processor to join a busy medical lab.

You will handle specimens, data entry into Harvest LIS, ensure proper labeling, and support high-volume workflows with attention to detail. New grads considered; on-the-job training available. Health benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Strong computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens from outside clinics as the courier drop-off.
• Ensure correct data entry as each specimen is received into Harvest LIS.
• Check for proper name, accession number, clinic ID and correct samples.
• Verify reference lab interface.
• Prepare all send out specimens for pick to reference lab and ensure proper handling of specimens according to in-house or reference laboratory protocols.
• Ensure that all specimens to be sent to reference lab have the proper test(s) ordered, the correct accession number and correct specimen.
• Work carefully, not handling too many specimens at one time.
• Sort all in-house labs to various departments, placing specimens in appropriate racks; chemistry, hematology, immunoassays, urines to the urine bench, etc.
• QC requisitions and Quest log
• Fax all CC reports
• Check fax logs
• Clean processing areas at the end of the evening
• Follow laboratory processing procedures at all times
• Follow OSHA requirements at all times
• Restock area
• Check eyewash station and fire extinguishers monthly
• Notify lab manager of any issues with orders and/or specimens.

Description

This Specimen Processor position is a full time position working in a busy medical lab in Framingham. Must be ok working with potentially hazardous and/or infectious materials. Detail oriented and strong organizational skills needed. 1 year experience preferred. Strong computer skills preferred.

• Check fax logs

Summary

• Employees who work 24 hours or more a week are Benefit Eligible
• Health Insurance: 90% of premium paid by CRMA for fulltime staff, prorated for part-time.
• 17 vacation/sick days/yr in addition. Prorated for part-time.
