Pharmaron is seeking a Specimen Processor in Baltimore, MD, to support the clinical research team with precise handling, documentation, and storage of specimens. This on-site role emphasizes adherence to study protocols and GCP requirements.

You'll gain hands-on experience in PK specimen processing, coordinating with laboratory and operations teams, and maintaining organized processing areas with accurate records and timely specimen processing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ year experience in a laboratory, specimen processing, or related healthcare setting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, label, and store clinical research specimens according to protocols.
• Document processing steps and timing accurately for PK specimens.
• Prepare and label PK cryovials and containers for processing.
• Organize and track specimens per study requirements.
• Maintain compliant storage conditions and inventory control.
• Collaborate with clinical research and lab teams to ensure timely processing.
• Maintain clean processing areas and ensure supplies are available.

What You'll Do

Join Pharmaron's Clinical Research team as a Specimen Processor and play an important role in supporting the accurate processing, documentation, and storage of clinical trial specimens. You'll work in a fast-paced research environment where precision, quality, and attention to detail are essential to ensuring samples are handled according to study protocols and laboratory requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a laboratory or phlebotomy professional looking to build or expand their experience in clinical research while gaining hands- on exposure to pharmacokinetic (PK) specimen processing and clinical trial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, process, centrifuge, aliquot, label, and store clinical research specimens according to study protocols and protocol-specific laboratory manuals.
• Accurately document each stage of PK specimen processing, including applicable centrifugation, processing, and storage times.
• Prepare and accurately label PK cryovials and other specimen containers prior to processing.
• Organize, track, and maintain PK specimens according to study-specific requirements.
• Verify specimen information and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and protocol compliance.
• Maintain appropriate specimen storage conditions and support specimen inventory activities.
• Follow study protocols, SOPs, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) requirements, and applicable laboratory quality standards.
• Identify and communicate specimen discrepancies or processing issues to the appropriate team members.
• Maintain organized and clean specimen processing areas and ensure required supplies are readily available.
• Collaborate with clinical research, laboratory, and operational teams to support timely and accurate specimen processing.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in laboratory science, phlebotomy, medical assisting, or a related field preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in a laboratory, specimen processing, phlebotomy, clinical research, or related healthcare environment.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately follow study protocols, laboratory manuals, and SOPs.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills with a commitment to data and specimen accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a clinical research team.
