Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Jefferson City, MO, is seeking a Specimen Technician II to join the Specimen Processing team. This role covers complex processing tasks across stations such as A Station, Frozen, CPU, and more, with a focus on test ordering accuracy and specimen requirements.

The position runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with pay from $18.00 per hour and potential annual bonus based on performance. Internal candidates must have 9+ months in SPT I and a medical background is a plus.

Qualifications

• Internal candidates must have at least 9 months in the SPT I role.
• Preferred: medical background with clinical laboratory terminology.
• Experience in a production environment is preferred.
• Data entry capable of high keystroke rates.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in responsibilities of the SPT I.
• Meets/exceeds productivity and quality standards.
• Solves more complex problems on a routine basis.
• Understands how Specimen Processing impacts the testing laboratory.
• Completes required documentation legibly and timely.
• Meets production and accuracy standards within 3 months.
